Speeches
This Term we are doing
Speeches and I'm doing my speech on
battery chickens I've already stood up and read my speech
And I think I did pretty well
this is my speech.
Tena Koutou katoa
Ko ( Nick ) toku papa
Ko ( Shari ) toku mama
Ko (Courtney) ahau
No reira, tena Koutou, tena Koutou, tena Koutou Katoa.

Kiaora,My name is Courtney, here to tell you about animal cruelty such as Battery Chickens. Battery Chickens have been around for many years, And are still going now. Chickens back in the 1900’s were mostly caged up in uncomfortable places. There were machines that feed them they put the food in the machine and it slowly goes down the tunnel and all the chickens could poke out there head and eat out from the tunnel.

(Go Free range)
If you go down to the supermarket please respect the chickens and Buy the Carton with FREE RANGE on it the helps you from catching food poisoning, which you’re unlikely to catch .

and if you do buy Caged eggs look at the due Date for safety reasons.
So can you help me put a stop to this cruelty please say you can.
Its not just me trying to stop animal cruelty Also the R.S.P.C.A and S.P.C.A also
other people in the community.

42 people in my class said chickens shouldn’t be caged and the 2 other kids said they should be caged,  battery cages are small wired cages, did you Know that 95% of laying hens spent most of their lives in cages, each hen is only aloud about 67/76 inches of space.

Battery Cages are so small that Chickens and hens can’t even spread out their wings, and there are 5 to 7 hens in each cage.
the hens muscles and bones are waste for lack of use,

after the chickens are out of there cages after about 2 years there bones are useless and mostly all broken, some of the animals die in there cages from dehydration.
In the United States around about 9 billion chickens are either Caged our

abused. Chickens aren’t the only bad thing there are also Mother pigs locked up in gestation crates, Veal crates for Calves and battery cages for hens. There are roughly still 4.2million mother pigs and 500,000 calves still living in crates, People are trying to stop animal abuse but some people still carry on with abusing there animals.

Most of New zealand has No battery Hens or crates full of Calves, I think they should be free to do whatever they want Do you agree?. Animals are like humans they are living things so i say the stay that way.

Anyway I think Chickens should be laying free range eggs not Caged eggs. If you are listening to this Speech I say you should buy Free range eggs not caged.

I’m Courtney and I hoped you liked my speech on Battery chickens and hens.

Made awards
This is the picture, I might use for The Made awards, of my Calf Trevor.

This week we did P.E, we played Prisoner.
We were first split into to teams
You have to lye on the ground and stand up
when your teacher says GO or blows the whistle.
Then you have to run to the other side and crab your ball, then run back to your
line, without getting tug but if you got tug you get sent to prison,
our team tide with the other team.

This is mine & Rebecca's box we made.

Music
Next week is the final week our group is performing
to the other kids is our P.E group.
we are using different instruments such as
the maracas, piano and mini drums
and some of us a singing we are all quite nervous.
we have been practising for quite awhile now,
we are singing 22 by Taylor swift
every group has to
add a different touch to it so we are Adding different
musical instruments.
I am looking forward
our performance

Crosscountry

Last Friday Our school held Ngatea Cross-country at South Farms we had an amazing day. The top ten are going to hauraki plains Cross country and I got 9th so I'm heading of to hauraki plains. I went first as an 11 year-old it was slippery going up the clay hill, cold running across the creek, then we had to go up the killer hill which is a hill that is very high, then do that all again apart from we skip the killer hill.

Art

For Art were doing lino prints, It is very hard we have to sketch ourselves and then
sketch some fish there are four pages to Draw on so if you make up you can start
again. Or you can draw different sides of your face like your Eye, mouth and nose
my Eye is almost finished, it just needs a bit more shading on it.
My front of my face is done.

Ultimate Frisbee

Ultimate Frisbee Every Tuesday my P.E group has to play Ultimate Frisbee it is really easy if you no how to through it probably. We got split into 4 teams my team has won both of our games and are hoping to win our third I belay get the Frisbee because all
the boys hog it.  There are basic rules no stepping you have to be 3meters (10 feet) away from your appointee to be able to defend.

Crosscountry
On Friday it is Cross country so we are heading up to South Farms unless it is raining fingers grossed. What we have to do is first go up a slippery hill then go through the paddocks down another slippery hill through the Greek and up and of hills. Then we have to go up the killer hill then back down the we have to go all around that again then up to the finish line.

Made awards
This term we are doing The Made awards so I choose static images so we have to get
a camera and take pictures of stuff we like we can photo shop it as well.
The other things are commercials and music videos you have got to enter it before the 12 September. So I might take photos of my two calves and some flowers a lady named Roz came and talked to us about photos and I learnt a lot.

this is a piece of my writing that was published in the upstart magazine
My best friend Aimee is a funny and creative friend she always knows  how to make you feel good. When
you ever need a hand she right there next to you. Even though I have lots of other friend she still is my
favourite.  She’s like another sister to me.  Whenever I want to do something crazy she’s always has an honest opinion . Whenever I say something funny she laughs really loudly she is super smart a she runs as fast as a cheetah.  The way I feel about her when she around is happy and cheerful.

Aimee is  a superstar netball player like Laura langman. She is great cook makes the best tomato soup and pear and mixed berry crumble.  She is a circle of sunshine and as bright as a rainbow. She likes to listening to lady gaga and groove to her dance moves,  her favourite colours are purple, green and blue.  She

Has silky golden hair her eyes shimmering in the light she always smiles at everyone she has great fashion sense.  Aimee is my best friend ever. She always smells like bright red roses swaying in the wind
she is a really cool friend. When my sister or brother she just says to stay a way from them before something bad happens. Aimee is not just a great supporter she always makes everybody smile.
